CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Contestants in the CrossFit Challenge, one of the West Virginia Games new events this year continued their Labor Day Weekend competition Sunday on Magic Island.
The competition drew teams from gyms across the state.
CrossFit is a strength and endurance conditioning methodology that combines weight lifting, running and some forms of gymnastics, says Angela Stone, co-owner of Kanawha City's CrossFit West Virginia.
Contestants pushed their endurance and strength with a mile-long run, as well as weight lifting of up to 250 pounds for women and 405 pounds for men.
