Teenager arrested on charges of DUI, fleeing police

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. -- A teenager was arrested in St. Albans early Thursday after he allegedly drove away from a traffic stop while drunk.

Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputy K.M. Gaddy saw a Chevrolet S-10 truck swerving on U.S. 60 around 2:30 a.m. Gaddy stopped the truck near Smiley's Motel in the Jefferson area, but the driver -- Justin Ray Hall, 19, of Cochran Lane in Nitro -- accelerated and fled the scene, according to the sheriff's department.

The officer chased Hall through St. Albans before he fled on foot at the B Street railroad crossing, according to the sheriff's department.

Deputies arrested Hall, who allegedly failed various field sobriety tests and refused to submit a breath sample.

Hall was taken to the South Central Regional Jail and faces charges of DUI and fleeing while DUI.
