I can't wait until George Zimmerman is arrested, charged and tried. Trial evidence will prove that he truly did act in self-defense and the liberals and Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Spike Lee, et al will all slink away in shame and disgrace just as they were compelled to do after all the evidence came out in the Duke lacrosse affair.

    Gas prices are going up as long as Republicans control Congress and give the big oil cartel free rein to bleed us dry, and destroy our economy.

    Republicans DON'T control congress. They only control the House of Representatives. I guess you have forgotten that obama stated he had no problem with 5 dollar a gallon gas and his secretary of energy stated we needed to have gas prices like Europe has. Put the blame squarely where it belongs, with obama and the democrats.

    The last time that gasoline was $4 a gallon, crude oil was $150 a barrel. Today, crude oil closed at about $103 a barrel. Demand is down and supply is up. No doubt that the oil companies want to punish President Obama during an election year because he has called for an end to oil company subsidies and for more efficient vehicles. The oil companies are only punishing the American economy and the American consumer.

    The oil companies are not punishing obama, they are doing just what he wants. He wants to force the country off oil onto solar and wind power and electric cars.

    And the reader wrote,

    The fascist far right has an agenda. They and the big corporations want to control every aspect of our lives. The coming election is very important, but West Virginians will vote for the fascists. They have been slaves to the coal companies for so long they don't know any other way.

    Let me see if I understand this. WVians have voted for the democrat candidates for the past 75-80 years. The democrats control every piece of legislation that comes from the state capital to be signed by the governor. And it's the fascist far right that controls the people???
    I wonder how many coal miners, power plant workers, and power company employees will vote for the clown who has stated that he will tax coal out of existence?
    "Well, my daddy was a democrat and if it's good enuf for my daddy, then it's good enuf for me."

    Who has killed more innocent civilians -- Assad, in Syria, or the United States, in Afghanistan and Iraq? Oh, I forgot, when we kill civilians it's OK, because we're "good."

    That would be Assad in Syria. You see, brainiac, Saddam Hussein killed more civilians in his own country(more than 600,000) and in Afghanistan, the Taliban carry that honor.

    well this is just not accurate at all. yes obama wants more alternative energy besides fossil fuels, but he understands its place in society right now. why do you just make things up?

    A reader complained about President Obama sending a "secret message to Putin ... to give the Russians all they want." Sounds like Rush Limbaugh needs to go to drug rehab again.

    Just curious, what does telling Medvedev "more can be done after my reelection" have to do with Rush Limbaugh? You just fishin' for something else to get Rush off the air? Not gonna happen!! If you really want something to complain about, why don't you complain about NBC doctoring the 9-1-1 recordings to suit their agenda to hang Zimmerman and make him out to be racist. There is absolutely nothing coming from NBC or its twin sister MSNBC that I will even consider believing, and I mean nothing. As far as I'm concerned, every "newscast" could be replaced with episodes of Jersey Shore, because both are a tremendous pain.

    "why do you just make things up?"

    Well, when reality contradicts what conservatives believe, what else can they do? Make things up! Besides, they see Faux Newz do it 24/7, so it's second nature. For example - since nobody knows how many people Assad has killed in Syria, nobody knows whether that more or less than the number of innocent women and children we've killed in Iraq or Afghanistan - a number that we don't even WANT to know.

    @dave

    I don't speak for God. What I do is question laws that fly in the face of the constitution. Does the US federal guvment have the right to force its citizens into contracts against their will? Because, Dave, that is precisely what Obamacare is going to do. It isn't about healthcare for 15 million people, some of whom have no desire to have health insurance, but it is about our freedoms being put in jeopardy.

    Pesmithwv - obviously, it's a close constitutional question - read Judge Silberman (a well respected Court of Appeals Judge) opinion upholding it - and there are at least 4 votes on the Supreme Court for upholding it. If you think it's obviously unconstitutional, it's your ignorance showing. What the Court did say was that Medicare and single payor ARE clearly constitutional. So to would be a single payor system where everybody pays taxes to pay for it - but if you'd rather have private health insurance, you'd get a tax credit.

    And if you think about it - the latter is effectively the ACA, except more people would. E covered.

    @Tell Me 2

    First, put YOUR ignorance on a shelf. Individual mandate is unconstitutional. For your information, for every judge you quote supporting it, I'll quote a judge that shows an opposing opinion. And don't count your chickens before they hatch. Many court observers are saying that the vote could be 6-3 against the ACA.
