Turk, Pitt and those darned officials
MORGANTOWN - Cleaning out a crowded notebook and a cluttered mind while wondering if maybe the Coliseum crowd should take up the same chant road crowds tend toward when Deniz Kilicli is trying to focus:
Not that it hasn't happened before - in fact, it's fairly common - but when the vast student section at Pitt last Thursday began chanting "U-S-A, U-S-A'' as Kilicli was preparing to shoot free throws, it had opposite the desired effect.
He hit nothing but net twice to complete three-point plays. And this from a career 55-percent foul shooter.

What?
What does the future hold? Who knows, but the potential future of the BE looks very bleak. Should the NCAA removed the BE from an automatic qualifier to BCS, as is now rumored, the recently added members would not be well served as a BE member.
Bottom line - WV is better positioned for the changes that are going to take place in college sports in the next few years now than when they were in the BE. Gotta pay money to make money. There is no rational argument that can be made that WV is worse off now in Big 12 than if they stayed in BE. If there is please enlighten all of us.
No need to enlighten you, you did it for me! Read what you wrote!
Why leave the BE if you are no worse off! Spend money to not be in a better position??? 850 miles is the closest school, Iowa State. Enlighten me on "what is about to happen in College Sports?" Big 12 has 10 schools 4 leave and 2 are added...interesting if you think about it! All 4 that vacated were geographically "correct."
Read 1st part of sentence. I said there is no RATIONAL argument that WV is worse off in Big 12. Meaning they are better off. Increased money over long period, increased national exposure, better competition which will improve us in all sports. List goes on, too long to enumerate . As far as changes to happen - conference realignment has not stopped. It will eventually be four 16 team leagues(most probably geographically more correct , but who knows?). My opinion only but seems it has to happen due to travel costs and regional rivalries being ripped apart. We shall see. Anymore explanations need?
