Marshall's Albert McClellan, who will return to action following a year's absence, is one of 56 players named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list.
THE 2007-08 fiscal year in the Marshall athletic department has about two months left, but one set of results is in: The Thundering Herd enjoyed one of its healthiest years ever at the box office in football and men's basketball.
Marshall knocked Southern Mississippi's starting pitcher out early for the second night in a row, but the Golden Eagles ably returned fire in a 12-8 victory over the Thundering Herd Saturday night at Appalachian Power Park.
In Marshall's first two baseball seasons in Conference USA, it carried heavy hitting stats into league play, only to see them deflated by top-notch pitching.
Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast will televise three Marshall football games this fall.
